Storm Chaser Truck Conversion
Im talking about putting the film over the outside. I think it could protect from hail. If not, you could make extensions for the windshield wipers like 1/2in and suspend the plexi over your stock window
you have to think while you are in a storm, its super humid. The plexi is going to fog up so it has to be sealed WELL, I think it could be done but you would have to figure out how to prevent it from fogging up mainly
I had my toyota pickup rhinolined (cheap rhinoliner) for $400, but it was while it was being worked on and the guy was just trying it out. Its held up good but I cant see it protecting from THAT much. The one they used on stormchaser was the Armor series or whatever and was an inch thick

Should watch yourself some storm chasers...they go bullet proof, hide the tires, and install hydrolics to sit it on the ground.

Watched that very vehicle sit in the middle of a tornado.
Turned the tahoe into the red ghost from pacman.

I think a 6" lift would be a bad idea...the whole concern with storm chasing is all the wind and velocity getting under the vehicle which can become hazardous and could flip.. heres an vid of the cummins they transformed on stormchasers on discovery channel. pretty sweet setup, maybe you can get some idea from them. (notice how they have the shields to protect wind from getting under the vehicle when parked.)

guys I dont think hes wanting to transform his truck into a inside the storm vehicle, but more of a storm chaser....bad rain, hail, limbs, debris but trying to avoid the actual flying tornado debris, that red tahoe has over 100k into it he said
I would say a tonneau cover wouldnt be a bad idea. Less catching high winds, either cross or head on. A camper shell would give more room for equipment, but reduces visibility and makes you a lot larger for wind, kind of defeats the purpose... but a hard, folding tonneau cover would give a lot of benefit, however it will run you about $400. Installation shouldnt be hard.
