Question Cooling system

Help, it's going to get cold here very soon, I'm getting warm air from my heater for about 1 minute, then it starts to cool of until it's at outside temp.
The gauge tells my the engine temp is normal, and stays thet way .
?????

2002 1500 4.7 4x4

I don't think it's a falty thermostat, the engine temp stays normal.

Maybe an air pocket in the heater core? Take off the radiator cap and run the truck till it burps out a little fluid, then shut it off and top it off

Flush the heater core before it plugs up. My guess is it will fix the heat

My thoughts are clogged core also. You get just enough to heat it up as ling as there is no air blowing across it but then you turn the fan on you are cooling it faster than you can warm it due to lack of water flow.

It's winter time, replace all the hoses for safety sake. Flush and fill.
