Default 3.92 gears question for tire size???

hello, i know my 06 ram has the 3.92 gears and am currently running the stock 275/60 20s. many talk about upgrading gears when going bigger on tires. i have a 2wd and its basically only a street driven truck and was looking at the nitto 295/60/20 terra grappler. would this size be ok with my current setup? plan on a 1.5" level up front also. i do not want to have to regear if i don't need to. they also have a 275/65 tire as well but thought going a tad wider would look nicer. ??? thanks

wow. that mpg hit is more like getting hit with a baseball bat to the head. man that hurts. now im rethinking if the 275/65 would be better for mpg.

If it helps, I lifted my old 03 4.7L QC 6 inches and put 35x12.5's on it and got around 9mpg with 3.55 gears. After changing out the rear to a 4.56 ratio, my MPG's went back up to around 14mpg in the city, 18 on the highway, so it wasn't too bad... Gears make a huge improvement in mpg especially with a 4.7L equipped truck.

Any tire shops have a set of used tires that size you could try out first? then decide????
