What u guys using for locking lugnuts??
I was just browsing tire costs for mudders, and A/T for the stock 20s. Def not cheap. And i used to think Nitto NT555 in 235 40 18 was $$$ for the celica.
Now im def thinking about getting some locking lugnuts to help deter thieves.
Just wondering where u guys got some decent ones. Its been my experience in the past with other vehicles is to avoid the stealership they overcharge for everything.
I could get some at Kal tire but long story short im not on good terms with them at the moment haha

Picked mine up local as well. I used to run 2 sets.......from 2 different places so i'd have 2 keys, and neither shop's employees had the chance of getting the copy they knew of.
THen I got my tires changed elsewhere and watched the process. lol. I used to be sooooo paranoid about someone stealing my wheels, or a shop employee getting a copy and having it.

I found an OEM McGuard locking lugnut kit for the ram's on ebay for cheap. It's been 2 1/2 years, and they are holding up very well with no signs of rust. These are the one's with the outer ring on it to stop someone from just hammering a socket on and taking them off, or using the special cone shaped tool to get them off. I have to keep track of the key number in case I ever loose the key and have to purchase a new key directly from McGuard, otherwise it would be a serious PITA getting the locks off...
The one thing is that the ring on the outside is not polished chrome, just brushed metal, so they do not look as good as a fully polished set of locks.

The mopar ones are sturdy, have the ring on the outside, and are polished....I like them other than sticking out so far
BUT when I took my truck in a few years ago when I had a Goodyear blowout, I accidentally left the key for the lugnut in my toolbox at home. No problem says the tech, we already got it off with another key.
WTF?

Every garage I've had tire work done on my truck at had never bothered to use my key for the lock-lug. They always used their universal socket...
Then when I had to pull a tire off to change a flat, I sheared the key.
I tossed the keys and just use stock lugs now - I protect my truck with both a bat and my reputation.
No Problems.

Oooh also one newb ques. What size socket fits our stock lugs on the 1500? I figured being a canadian built truck everything would be metric and not one of my sockets fit.
Yea I guess I'll check out some tire shops and pick up a set of locking lugs.
