First of all I am a new member and a new Dodge Owner. I just got a 2007 Ram 1500 w/4.7. So far so good with the truck. I am expecting Santa to bring a new exhaust and I was wondering if anyone here has experience with the Super 44 in a single inlet/dual outlet configuration. I would sure appreciate any input I can get. Thanks.

 

Great muffler choice IF you like worse flow rate than the stock muffler (decreased performance and fuel economy), a drone in the cab and having to replace it after a couple of years due to rust. LOL...

At rpms when they don't drone they do sound pretty good though. Because of the chambered design, Flowmasters tend to be quite restrictive.

Flowmasters are very popular, I've had one. But I think that's a product of good marketing, a high advertising budget and the fact that they do have a good, deep rumble. But there are a lot better choices out there...

 

Used to have a FM Super 44. Replaced it with a Cherry Bomb Extreme. Louder under throttle, nice rumble while you cruise, no drone and not a speck of rust. And you can get one shipped to your door for less than $60. If the Extreme is too loud for ya, check out the Vortex.

I got a 07' dakota 4.7L v8 same as your ram and i installed a Borla muffler on it and sounds awesome. If you do a search for "Borla" you will find a couple of vids from other members that have Borla including a vid of my truck. It has a low rumble in idle until you step on it. And almost ho drone inside. Good luck !

 

Thanks for all the input guys, even though the Cherry Bomb is a bit loud for me it still sounds nice. I am still poking around, so if anyone else has more or there are any more options I would be glad to hear it. Thanks again.
