What about Rough Country? It fills the bill as far as having a pair of crossmembers and with a pretty good set of shocks it's only about $900.

I dunno what I'm going to do, and I really dont want a note. I need something w better gas mileage, this is paid off so I'm debating on trading this in on something or adding another car to the fleet. My buddy is selling his black 2ss camaro for cheap w 4k miles, but I don't want a huge note.

I've been thinking about getting a mid mileage diesel

Keep the truck if it's paid for, go for a 4 cyl. daily driver. Plenty of 4-6 year old, 40-60k mile 30+ mpg vehicles out there that won't break the bank.

I've contemplated a diesel myself a couple of times the last two-three years. But I've sunk too much in mods in my truck for what I can get out of it, plus I've not even hit 50k miles yet. I've had a diesel, they are GREAT to have when you NEED ONE, but if you don't either put a ton of miles on your truck or tow/haul often then it's hard to justify the extra cost of buying and then owning one.

yea I know...but all of my friends have diesels and its not fun when being around em lol. I like the look of the truck, but I think i would really like a bigger cab and 4x4 to make things a little easier. Plus I think my truck would sell quick right now, but in 3-4 years I might lose 6-8k on it

Im graduating Friday, and am working on a job to start in January when I get a temporary license. Take my boards late January and theres the good check. Have to buy a ring, already have $3k saved up on it, and its open warfare after that...just have to decide what to do!

Ain't nuthin' wrong with getting what you want BECAUSE you want it, whether you need it or not, long as you can afford it and not do without somewhere else.

Just be aware that cost of owner a diesel is a good bit higher than most prepare for...
