i dont know if it is your style but check out my xd addicts, I removed the plastic silver bolts. All they are is plugs into a hole, no threads or anything. I found it hard to clean the wheel with those things on and just the fact that they are plastic made me remove them

Just because I am curious, are you able to pop them back into the wheels; or is it a once they are out, they are out for good type of deal?

yea you can if you don't ruin them with pliers trying to pull them off. The are like those stupid black plugs that hold the carpet to the floor under the rear cargo area but they arnt as strong. i mean if u had the patience u could even tap the holes and thread in real bolts. or buy different plugs and use those. But yes u can reinstall them.
