i recently installed a k&n 77 series air intake, when i increase the speed around 50 kph at 2000rpm i can hear a light ticking noise on the passenger side that goes away if i hit the gas a little harder or if im doing above 60kph. I didnt hear this noise with the factory intake. is this just the intake making noise as it takes in air or could it be something else?

 

EGR valve, perfectly normal. The Hemi Hat, besides being restrictive as hell, is a baffle for it.

 

thanks for the reply, is there any way to get rid of it besides going back to the hemi hat or puttin the pedal to the floor?

 

I saw a while back someone made a baffle that slipped in the tube of the CAI to muffle the sound in the same way that the "Hemi Hat" does. If memory serves he was selling them for like $25. Down side is it redirects air flow and kinda defeats the purpose of having a CAI.

Leave it alone, you'll get used to it. I thought it was annoying as hell when I installed my CAI and I don't even notice it any more...
