You can also look in your glovebox for your gear ration, most of the time it is on a sticker in there
I know the wheels and tires will be fine, I have a friend with an SRT10 ram that tows something slightly heavier all the time.

Something I don't think any one else mentioned was an equalizing hitch. I take it you will not be using a goose neck or a 5th wheel type of hitch. So a equalizing hitch will make long tows much safer and easier on you. Enclosed trailers are quite often pushed around by winds. And on a longer trip this can be a real PITA. Also you will want to get trailer tow mirrors. They will make every thing a lot easier to.

I have airbags in the back and for towing, they are uncomparable. Stock ride, stock height. You'll need to get leaf srping mounted bags since your lowered....that is if you have your springs flipped? if not, Idon't know if they would work???
You'll also need a weight distribution hitch to tow that much.
That's a long trailer and might take you for a ride with the light weight of a 1500??
HERE is a Reese

haha Dirtydog, I was going to say that it had already been mentioned on the first page of this post. I have an 18ft enclosed trailer that I tow, it is pretty light so I don't use a weight distribution hitch, but I do have a sway control bar to help a little. My trailer also has tandem axle brakes, I added a Prodigy Brake controller, and tow mirrors to my truck as well. Couldn't be happier with my set-up and the truck doesn't even know the trailer is back there. My trailer has a sink and stuff in it with a 50 gallon water tank, and I only tow motorcycles/quads/gear so it doesn't weigh as much as a car+trailer weight but still...

I tow 7500# 30 ft travel trailer with mine flat land and 3.55 gears it does ok . But it is flat land basically if I was in a hilly area or going a long distance I would be looking for a lower gearing for sure .

I have the same set up (cept 5th wheel trailer) and had no problems in the hills of MO. got 10MPG. Stopping the trailer is where you want to feel secure about the load. The large brakes of the 3rd gen are good - stock.

It stops realy well trailer brake controller is usually adjusted fairly aggressive so the trailer isn't trying to push when stopping.
I use air bags and an equlizer hitch to help keep it level also.

i hate to admit it, but enough information in this thread and thru my own research leads me to believe i'm better off selling the truck and buying a 25/3500 cummins, by the time i do the things i need to do to my truck to make it reliable on the road i'm better off trading it for a year or 2 older cummins :/
