Ordering a Rancho lift
As some of you know I bought 35's for my truck. I have a level kit. But I think I would be better off with a lift, to help get the front suspension and cv's to a stock like stance. I plan on keeping the truck a long time and don't wont problems.
So I'm going to order the Rancho 4" lift this week. I'm also going to get the skid plate. I think I'm going to go with Rancho 5000 shocks. I had thought of bilstein shocks but in a way I would like to stick with the rancho brand.
So far I have found that performancelifts.com has the best price shipped. Has anyone dealt with them?

Nope, but I know guys who have and not had a problem. I bought my Rancho at 4 Wheel Parts back in '05 when they were running a set of four RS9000 shocks and free shipping. Might can find a similar deal. Someone is usually running some kind of deal with the shocks or a rebate on them at least.
I know they will price match as well.
You'll like the kit. Stong kit with a full sub-frame instead of just one or two crossmembers. Also at 4" I think it gives a perfect blend of height and functionality with 35" tires. I was tempted to go 6" with the Skyjacker kit at the time, but that would have made the bed of my truck pretty much unusable, especially with driving an ATV up into it.
That extra height over just a level kit will give you plenty of articulation with 35s...

I don't know much about adjustable shocks. That's why I was thinking, keep it simple.
It seams to me that, they would not last long. Since they are adj.
I do like that they are silver would match the truck.

To be honest, the RS5000s are fine. I had them on my 2nd Gen Ram and would have gotten them this go-round, but free is free, and the RS9000s are above the 5000s on the price scale.
I put mine on 5 on the 0-9 settings on each of the four shocks when I installed them. I've never touched them since...

I got the kit Wednesday.
I went ahead and got 9000 shocks.
I'm a little disappointed though. I ordered the kit, shocks and skid plate. Well I didn't get the skid plate so I e-mailed them and asked, where it was? They replied back and said it is no longer available and could not find one at any other warehouse. I didn't get charged for it. But I never got an e-mail saying I couldn't get it either.
So now I'm thinking about making a custom one.
I was hoping to install it soon but to many other things going on, one is organizing a new toolbox. I also have the week of feb. 7 off from work so that will be a good time if I can't do it sooner.

Call Rancho directly. I had a tie rod end go (part of the kit) just this past fall. I called 4 Wheel Parts (where I bought the kit) and they told me the ends were on national backorder and had no clue when they would be available. Since these ends are larger and beefier than the stock ones, a stock end from Mopar will not fit.
I called Rancho to see if they could point me to a vendor who might have one and they told me they had 111 in stock and would ship me one under warranty (FIVE YEARS AFTER I INSTALLED THE KIT). I then asked what it would cost to buy a second one so I could replace both at the same time, since you need to do an alignment after changing one and the guy said "don't worry about it, I'll send you two". That's service!!!
So it may be they will sell you one (maybe at a good price) or be able to tell you where you can get one.
I learned a lesson: never believe a vendor, they lie as bad as stealerships and always call the manufacturer if you have questions/concerns...
