Dodge Ram ROOKIE... Ugh.
I wouldn't NEED. But want plays a huge factor there.
I think my wife would be upset if I lifted it more. I am almost done with this truck, we graduate in May and she should have a full time teaching job in the fall. A new truck has been agreed upon before we start popping the little ones out. So if I get a new truck, guess what
I am just trying to make this truck complete. I have ordered little bits and pieces over the last couple months from PCP to fix it up. Next is the cracked tow mirror. Then the dented bumper. Then the rust on the fender. Its all coming together, again.

you guys are awesome. i appreciate it all. I have looked at all of your mods, and wow. you guys keep mentioning all these lifts and levels and what not, how hard are they to do yourself? what are the costs? since i have a 2wd, i dont plan on off roading 'THAT' much. so maybe a level and 33"s are sufficient? any tire and rim packages? (i know, i ask a lot of questions... i appologize) what do you guys feel is most important? what should i get done first?
Well that all depends on what you use the truck for. Is there anything that your truck is having a problem with or that you are not completely happy with as of now? ie. towing, hauling, sound system, performance, etc.?? That is what I would feel is the most important thing to do for first mods. If your most important thing is to make your truck look great on the outside, and you are happy with everything else, then I would start looking at doing what ever it is that is going to give you the look that you want. My old 03' was lifted 6" with 35" Toyo M/T's mounted on Moto Metals. That truck was great, but I realize that with this truck ride comfort, and ease of getting in and out of it are more important to me, plus I only go off road during the hunting/fishing months and I have a 4x4 Bronco for the fun trails. This time around I am going with simply a 2.5" level on the front (already done) and a nice set of black rims and A/T tires for ride comfort, traction, and a more aggressive look than stock.
Here is my old truck: 2003 Ram 1500 QCSB 4.7L 4.56 open diff

And my new truck: 2008 Ram 1500 QCSB 5.7L 3.92 LS

Well your truck (if you have the stock 20s) have 33s, so they wont look any taller.
There isnt a lift that you cant put on your truck yourself. Some are fairly hard, but possible. Especially with a buddy.
A 2-2.5in level is ~$80, a spindle lift (which is the best 3-4in for your truck) is $270. Both need an alignment afterwards.
A level and 33s will look alright. Heres mine after.

And a favorite off road tire if you are mainly road is the Nitto Terra Grappler. A great looking M/T tire is Nitto Trail Grappler or Toyo Open Country M/T. My new tires will be the General Grabber. They look great IMO and are fairly aggressive. Rims are up for grabs, depending on what you like. I really like the KMC Monsters, but most of the KMCs are played out.

also, im looking at www.rimzoneonline.com and they seem to only offer packages for 4WD. is there a difference? if my 2WD is leveled, would they have the same clearance?
I'm now thinking maybe the spindle Lift is what i want. if i get the spindle lift, what size tires/rims should i be looking at?

And 20s add too much to the price. The 33s will look good, you could fit 35s but 33s would be a safer bet
