towing with a '08 Ram 1500 V6
what weight can I tow w/ a 2008 Ram 1500 6cyl 2wd standard cab short bed? If I have the Blue Ox sway control/equalizer - class III hitch. I've been looking at the dry weight and tongue weight. Is that correct? want to buy a toy hauler for a Harley Classic.
idk bout the v6, im gonna assume with it being the standard cab/shortbed id say under 5000lbs.
i have a 4.7v8 4door 4x4 shortbed, and factory book says 5000-6000lbs but ive towed bout 7000lbs just fine, it was a 3 horse steel trailer with 3 full grown horses. weight station said my truck was sitting just under 13000gvw, and my truck weights 5400lbs by itself.
im pretty sure ur toy hauler with the bike will be nothing behind ur truck.

Maximum towing capacity of a 2008 Ram 1500 with V6 is 3400 lbs. 4.7L V8 is 7300 lbs. and 5.7 is 8900 lbs. This is assuming all towing options are used such as trailer brakes, equalizing hitch, etc...

Your not going to be happy towing that much weight with that truck/engine combo. You need torque to get that thing going and the V6 doesn't have that. I would look at 14-16ft enclosed trailer that weight 2000lbs and go from there or buy a bigger truck. I pushed the limits with my V8 hemi pulling a toy hauler.
