You honestly think a 230 HP 4.7 with a manual transmission will get better fuel economy than a 345 HP Hemi with a 545rfe in a 5000 lb. + truck?
The EPA doesn't agree with you, rating a 4.7 with 6 speed manual at 14 city / 19 highway and a 5.7 Hemi with 5 speed automatic at 15 city / 19 highway.

and I for one am thankful that my Hemi runs just as good with sixteen $2 copper plugs in it as opposed to sixteen $6 platinum ones.

The drivers seat foam is a common issue, happened to me, and has happended to othiers, over time the foam wears out and you end up sitting on the steal rod of the seat, and hands down I would take a 4.7 in a 1500 with a 6speed over a hemi automtic any day of the year, yup hemi has more power, but I would take the 6speed over a automatic even with the lesser 3.7.

Dodge automatics are not for me.

Thats my preferance and the champion sparkys are the only 16 things I'm not crazy abought with the hemi.

The paint quality on my patriot blue truck and the fit and finsh on my 06 are no where as good as the Fords I owned in the past, but the hemi with my 6speed has awsome power and great mpg high way, and has never quit on me.

Fords broke down a lot, esp the first gen 3v 5.4, thats way I went to a dodge.

I got a ton more issues with Fords.

Tell me about it, my last Ford was a '97 I bought new, the 5.4 dropped a piston on my while trailering my bassboat home from a tourney with all of 14k miles on it. Two days after the warranty repair (which took the dealership FIVE WEEKS to complete, I traded it in on my first Ram, a '98 RCSB 5.9 4x4.

I've owned one full size Jeep pickup, three Fords, two GMs and now two Rams and two of the Fords were by far the most problematic of the lot. The other Ford was a diesel with the 7.3 Powerstroke in it which IMO was the last diesel they produced worth a flip and the only one that could touch the CTD 5.9 in reliability. I'd prolly still own that truck but the body and suspension components were going down fast around that engine...
