Default brake controller

I have an 05' ram 1500 w/hemi and will be pulling a 26 ft tt. Was wondering if anyone had advice on which brake controller to buy?

I don't tow alot but I tow enough. This is what I had in my 01 and I was happy with it for the most part http://www.reeseprod.com/content/pro...405&part=83500 I put this in my 06 http://www.reeseprod.com/content/pro...405&part=80550 Personally I like the Timed units vs the Inertia type. There are plenty of reasons to like one over the other. I like the timed units because if there were to be a situation where you were to lose braking ability in the tow vehicle IE brake fade or brake line failure etc the inertia type would be none the wiser where the timed units wouldn't care and would start applying the trailer brakes anyways. But the Inertia types are easier on the braking system as a whole. The timed delay cost less where the Inertia type cost more and are alittle trickier to setup. You gotta do some reading and determine how much you wanna spend and what you would feel most comfortable with.

I tow a 26' and use the P3 by Tekonsha. I would also suggest you get the the resse dual cam weight distribution hitch (aka the straight line hitch) and a set or Firestone ride right air bags if your going to load the box of the truck (I have a quad, generator bicycles and firewood in the back)

With my setup it tows like a dream. Just need to keep the RPM's in the 3K range when climbing hills.

Actually the inertial types have a trigger to manually apply the trailer brakes as well.

This is the one I use for my 20' travel trailer:

It was easy to setup and works really well for all my mountain towing. (can't wait for spring)

I have the Prodigy trailer brake controller from Tekonsha. It works well. I chose it because of all of the positive reviews.
