Check Engine Light on when engine off?

Check Engine Light on when engine off?

My check engine light stays on after the light check, it turns off as soon as I start the engine. Is this normal, or is it trying to tell me something?

If you turn the key but dont start it, the CEL will stay on because things are energized but the engine isnt running. Thats normal.
