If I were in your shoes, I would either just keep the truck you have now,or Keep the truck you have now just for plowing etc and buy a newer 1500 to drive the rest of the time.

I plow commercially and I can tell you this much .. for a couple driveways here and there you do not need a 3/4 ton. I go out for 10-20 hours at a time so my truck sees ALOT of abuse. That's why I got the 3/4 ton diesel. I know quite a few guys who plow with me and they have half tons and while their trucks do have more repairs than mine does they hold their ground quite well (and this is commercial plowing).

With the type of plowing you do you're truck wont be able to use the benefits of the 3/4 ton. If you were thinking about getting into the snow business then sure.

So if plowing is the only reason you want the bigger truck to me it's not worth it.
