Default Socket set recommendation

Hey guys... I'm looking into buying a socket set so I can start to do my own repairs on my truck. In the next few days, I'm going to change my plugs and oil for the first time by myself. I have the 8 plug setup so hopefully I won't have to deal with the headache so many of you talk about. Basically, I'm choosing between two sets that are on sale now... please let me know what you think, or if I shouldn't get either. O'reilly auto parts: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...dw0/gm0001.oap Autozone: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...questid=910104 seems like the GM at O'reilly has more extensions and what not

If you have a Harbor Freight close by then go there and get your tools. I have expensive sets and HF sets and both are the same in quality for the most part.

One word: CRAFTSMAN. Still get a new one any time you break one...

I have Craftsman, Snap On & Penncraft (who is old enough to remember those?) in my big tool box and use the Harbor Freight/Northern Tool ones in my truck toolbox to lose or lend out...

I have a Harbor Freight not too far from me. Also, these other sets I linked have lifetime warranties too. Wouldn't that be the same as Craftsman?

+1 on Craftsman. Snap-on's ratchets are a little better, but for your first set to work on your truck occasionally, it will be fine...warranty deal is pretty sweet too. Most of my stuff is craftsman.

It's hard to beat Harbor Freight on a tool you won't use very often. I have Craftsman and HF stuff. There's a quality difference, but often you can buy two HF items for the price of a Craftsman. Matco and Snap-on are great, too, but awful pricey. They're for the guys who making a living turning wrenches.

I would look at Pawn shops and maybe Craigs list. I would look for craftsman. They don't know where you bought them andyou get the life time replacement just like you bought them brand new from Sears.
