Yeah. My consensus is that the hemi pushes a 3/4 ton truck around just fine... just as good as it does on the half ton. BUT, if you do a lot of towing, obviously the Cummins would be well worth the 2nd mortgage.

I dunno I think the HEMI is pretty disappointing in a big truck. I even have 4.56's and yeah it does okay if you like to rev the **** out of your truck to tow anything. The peaky power and the goofy *** gearing have for sure turned me off of a HEMI in a truck that will do any towing. Daily driving yeah I guess its aight but yeah 4200 rpm to get any torque wtf is that ****.

If Ram ever comes out with a much improved engine choice, over the current 5.7L HEMI, I will probably consider trading in my 2005 Ram Power Wagon. Or, if Ford ever came out with an F-250 with similar credentials as the Power Wagon.

Otherwise, I will look into adding a supercharger, to compensate for the lack of low-end power/torque, in a few years.

How much are you towing? I have towed 11,000 pounds with mine and I don't have any complaints. I only did that for one round trip of about 60 miles. But still no problems and my truck is a 1500 with 3:92's.

8500 to 9k. Nothing crazy but still disappointing that it struggles to pull the way I want it to go. Next truck will be a Ford diesel me thinks.

I recently read an article on Pickup.com it compared very equally equiped Ford and Chevy diesels. The Chevy just blew the Ford away. You might want to check that out.

The Chevrolet, as well as the Ford AND Ram, would be a good choice for a two wheel drive pickup. If a 4X4 is in order, then a Ford or Ram is the only way to go because of the solid-front axles on the heavy duties.

Yeah I did see that. I would be getting a used one though so I would still go Ford. I really really like the truck as an entire package and well I am just not that interested in a 4x4 with IFS.
