Gen. Q about '03 SLT 1500 reg. cab hemi
New here. Prolly need to search, but figured I'd go ahead and ask as well...What do you all think about a '03 reg. cab SLT Hemi w/ 130k on it? This truck is on my Dad's lot and I'm thinking about buying it to replace my beater truck which is a '94 fullsize Blazer z71. I never use and do not anticipate needing 4x4 so that isn't an issue. I know he's put a few k miles on it as his shop truck in the few months he's owned it w/out any issues, but otherwise I don't know anything about it. Anything to look-out for with 130k miles? Should this truck be good for 200k w/out any issues as long as it has been maintained? As far as I can tell the truck is stock so my only plan would be a muffler delete, 2" or so drop in back to level it out, and tint. Can I expect 20ish mpg on the interstate at 70? That would be an improvement over 15 everywhere from the Blazer, and the Dodge has to be more fun to drive. Anyways I guess I need to go look at the truck but lemme know what you guys think and please point me to any threads I need to read.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Welcome to the site.
The earlier Hemis are just as good as the older ones. 03s had some issues with the valve springs breaking and dropping valves and rear tail light circuit boards going bad but thats about it I think. All in all they are good trucks. As long as you are going to go try to mod and do a big cam with custom tuning you will be fine.
