Default Help Please

I have a 2005 Ram 1500 Daytona with the SRT-10 stock wheels (305/40R22) on. This appears to have really affected the performance of the vehicle and I have heard that the chip will have to be reprogrammed to match the bigger tires. I also wanted to go wider (perhaps 315) on my next set. Is that possible, bad idea or what? I am no car genius, for sure. Recommendations? Thanx!

that tire is actually an inch and a half shorter than the stock 20s tire. It is 12 inches wide though. If you go 315 it wont be any taller but will be another half inch wider.

A chip will reprogram to match tire height but what size did you start with? stock 17s are close to that height. Also, I would figure the SRT wheels wouldnt be any heavier than the stock 20s. If not, then there shouldnt be any real power difference other than them hooking up alot faster due to width.

You will also want to watch the distance between the tire and the spindle. Rubbing would be bad
