I just bought a used 2003 Ram 1500 quad cab with a 4.7 , the question I have is this, It did not come with remote keyless entry however it does have electric door locks. Was keyless entry an option or am I just missing the remotes? Also I am not able to lock or unlock all doors using key in drivers side door, I thought that since it had the electric door locks that this would be possible?

I had the same issue for the 1005 I bought recently. The dealer charged me $40 for programming a key fob I had already. If i had purchased the key fob from them I think it would've been another $65. One other thing to note is my keys were black... not the silver ones with the transponder in them. My local locksmith could've programmed my key fob from a silver key and his programming, but he didn't have the software necessary for programming without the transponder.

My suggestion would be to get ONE programmed for your truck the least expensive route, then buy another off of ebay or something. You can easily program additional ones with a working one, but you must first have a working one.

 

You can always get a build sheet for the truck and see if it came with RKE. But being you have electric locks I think it is safe to assume you do.
