Default paint bubble???

I have an 04 ram 1500 quad and I came out from work the other day and noticed a bubble over the left rear wheel. It is about an inch above the well and the size of a dime. Rust, althought I don't notice any anywhere else or see any signs? or just a paint defect. All silver in color.

Any idea on how much it would cost to fix?

this is a common problem. Its actually a bit of moisture trapped in the between the paint and sheet metal. Its probably rusted. Your best bet is to get a set of low profile flares that will cover it and sand down/paint wherever its flawed

PIC? It would be nice to see the exact location and surrounding area before telling you how to go about fixing it or preventing it from spreading...

Agreed. You need to look up in the tire well and see where it is at. Keep in mind without wheel liners you are throwing that winter salt and sand up under the bed with the tires and it eventually causes issues like you are seeing now.

Common issue in states where salt is used, problem is where the 1/4 panel and the innerwheelhouse are welded together at the factory they start to rust from the inside-out,you may only see a dime on the outside, but once you start to grind the metal you'll see rust pinholes everywhere.I've said before if i could fix and make it last i'd be a rich man.Honestly the only way i've ever had any luck was to replace the whole side.Take it to a body shop and have it fixed/painted I guarantee it'll be back in no time, only worse...
