Truck Bed Tents? Opinions and Recommendations
I'm about to do some camping and wanted to get some input on truck bed tents from those who have used them.
Here is just a few I've found:

I have the Sportz brand in camo. I bought it when i had my 2000 ram and used it 3 or 4 times. I'm hoping it will fit my 08. We got hit with one hell of a storm with it in Talladega one night and it held up great even with the high winds. Didn't leak a drop. I got mine thru summit.

I've been tent camping all of my life, sometimes as much as 10-12x a year if only for a long weekend at a time.
There has been a few times I was tempted to buy one. I had a Ford F150 4x4 when I was in my early 20s, before I got married that I ended up putting a fiberglass cap with sliding windows and a light just for camping by myself at trout streams in upstate NY and that worked out well.
The biggest reason I have never gone the truck tent route is because I tend to use the truck bed heavily when I camp, whether it be during the cooler times of the year and I bring firewood with me or sometimes I bring the ATV and it ties up my bed.
Also, for the past 4 or 5 years, I've taken the Grand Cherokee most of the time. More dry storage, a hard clam-shell carrier on top and it still has 4WD, so I'd still need a regular tent anyway...

My brother-in-law had one and with the proper matting or air mattress it's perfect for camping, and you're up off the ground during rain.
He went camping with us back in 08 with it. I was in my 5th wheel, he was in his tent. (yes, our wives were there). He didn't like the drunks talking it up to 2 am. So ear plugs will be a nice addition to the tent.
