The passenger brake light on my gooseneck trailer will not work. The blinker and the running lights work fine. When we hooked the trailer up to another truck everything worked just fine. So we traced it back to the fuse under the hood. Found that the fuse was blown. So we replaced the fuse and still the passenger brake light will not work. So the place I had my trailer serviced told me I needed to take it to a mechanic. Took it to a mechanic and they said I will need to replace the electical panel (the fuse box) used @ $500.00. Is this correct or could there be something else so that I do not have to replace the whole fuse panel.

 

Forgot to tell you its a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500

 

Did they check all of the wiring from the fuse to the trailer plug?
If so then it's probably the PDC.(power distribution centre)
