this is my first post i'm coming from a 96 ram 2500 cummins i just sold looking to get a 3rd gen with a hemi.

so i'm looking at a 06 1500 mega cab 4x4 with 71k miles on it. it has a diablo trinity, cai, exhaust and throttle body spacer just the basic bolt ons. it seems the previous owner took care of it as he loves the truck doesnt want to get rid of but has too. anyway its very clean should i be worried at all about these mods already being on it. and can i expect a long trouble free life from the motor.

 

I wouldnt worrie bout it !!! Check and see what he did with the tunner but id go for it

 

Well first, I slightly question what the owner was doing with that throttle body spacer on there... the hemi isn't a carb/TB injected engine. I wouldn't worry too much about the mods, just check out the normal state of all wearable components.

 

I would also be a little weary as to them telling you "I really don't want to get rid of it" but other than that everything seemed good and I wouldn't worry about it.

i'm coming from a 12v cummins with over 200k on it that i could literally keep to the floor from every stop and it wouldn't blink an eye only concern was the transmission.

i have no problem with getting a gas truck i just have to keep the durability in mind when buying them just making sure it's not too high mileage or to many mods on it.

so what kind of life can i expect out of a 06 hemi motor.

what do i need to look for to tell the condition of the motor i heard of pulling a pcv??
