Default PLEASE HELP! Can I get longer wheel studs for 07 1500 4X4???

Here is my situation. I have on 07 Ram 1500 4x4. I have just installed a 2" leveling kit. I also have purchased SRT-10 wheels 20" with Nitto 295/60/20's. I was told by a tire and wheel dealer that the 295/60/20 will fit no problem (with leveling kit) but that is as big as I could go.

After installing the leveling kit the tires still hit the strut. We put in a 1/4" spacer and it almost cleared...just touching. We put a second 1/4" spacer= 1/2" spacer. The issue now is the amount of thread on the stud. What is a safe amount of thread...how can you tell? Can I get longer wheel studs, if I can..where can I get them?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated!! I just want to put my SRT wheels on...they looked dynamite on the truck!

Please help!!!

Go with wheel spacers, not shims.

they use the existing studs and have off set new studs. see pic below

http://www.wheeladapter.com/dodge_wheel_spacers.php

you can get them at various places, just pay attention to the stud size. some cheaper ebay spacers are 1/2" studs while others are 9/16".

Just something to keep in mind.

FYI: real SRT wheels are 22's any other sizes are knockoff/reproduction wheels (not that it's bad)

Can I get 1/2" spacers? Or do you mean wheel adapter? I dont want to go with anything that is 1-1/2" wide and have th e wheels stick out. I was thinking of a spacer that would go over the bolt pattern and maybe get longer studs.

Should I do the back wheels if I do the front?

The spacers that I posted start at 3/4". I think at 1/2" you are kind of in the grey zone between shims and adapter/spacers.

you can just do the front if you like, nothing that says that you have to or need to do the back at the same time, but you will have a slight track width difference if you don't.

I think I will go with some 1-1/4 wheel adapters from Fred at wheeladapter.com and be done with it. I am just waiting to hear back from him. Its so frustrating having theses wheels and not being able to put them on.
