Default wheel recomendations

I've decided to just go with new 17/9 wheels on my 07 quad cab 1500 4X4. I would be replacing a set of pro comp polished aluminums that started pitting within the first month. All other pro comps I see around here look the same. I priced a set of dick Cepek DC-02's today. I said I wanted black but he pointed me toward the "machined" aluminum DC's with black trim. With my experiance with the polished ones I am kind of scared of the machined ones---whatever that is. The salesman said they were clear coated but I see no info on that. Has anyone here had any ezperiance with the dick Cepek machined aluminum wheels. I already have a set of highly oxxdized and pitted rims so I see no need in buying another set which may do the same.
How about any recomendations for "all black" wheels like I asked the salesman for. I believe they would need to be 4.5 backspaced with-12mm offset. Those are the specs of the DC-2's and they sound about right for the pro comps I currently have which have no rubbing issues.
I am eather buying 2 replacement BFG all terain 315/70/R17's or just a whole new set of 35/12.50 mud terrains--either BFG, Nitto's, or some other more economical one.
Thanks

I know quite a few Jeep owners with the DC-02s, they definitely have a clear coat on them. I have a set of Mickey Thompson Classic IIs that are polished (same company) that have been on my truck since mid summer of '04. Also clear coated and they are in perfect shape. My lugs and center caps are pitting and need to be replaced but the wheels are almost like they were when new. Only thing you gotta watch what you put on the clear, a LOT of wheel cleaners will make the clear turn milky whitish...

I think with all the "kiddies" going for the blacked out look in recent years, the Classic IIs are available all black. The Mickey Thompson/Dick Cepek wheels consistently get the better strength to weight ratio ratings on independent tests, are not fancy, but are just a good, strong, wheel that won't break the bank. I know mine are 4.5 and -12mm...

Guys in my hunting club have bought Pro Comp wheels (and tires) and nobody has much nice to say about either...

I don't think you could go wrong with either. I've always liked the look of the DCs...

Thanks for the info. I like the looks of the DC's. They have just enough brightness to offset them--especially since my truck is black. It seems I will probably go for those as I'm having a hard time looking through all the wheel choices. My year truck seems to be dificult with the clearance issues and there arent many all black with that backspacing and a 9" width. A lot in the 8" width though. I just can't get myself to buy 8" wheels when I have a perfect set of factory ones, but with a 5.5" backspacing which makes them useless for any larger tires. I think 9's are a better fit for a 12.50 anyways.
They are also somewhat affordable so I can go ahead and get the door fixed that my dad backed into.

Does anyone know anything about the level 8 strike. Cant seem to find any specs on them other then sizes. They seem to be in the right size and price range. I saw on another forum 4.5 or 4.25 backspacing. Of course I'd have to check with the company.
