Is there a difference between the Superchips 3950 Cortex and the 3865 flashpaq?

Yep, as far a the actual tunes go, identical.

Be advised: If you plan on using the optional custom transmission tuning feature it will void the power-train warranty on the Cortex, leaving you with in essence a 3865, so if this is a plan, just save the $ and get the 3865...

 

OK cool. So it looks like both have an optional transmission tune piece that can be purchased. It really comes down to paying a bit extra for a warranty on the Cortex (which goes away if you do the tranny tune).

Well, I paid the extra money for a gray/Silver tuner that IMO looks MUCH better than the red 3865, the cortex matches the interior better and plus I'm not a fan of red either...

Also, the cortex is compatible with a bunch of Chrysler vehicles as compared to the 3865 is only for the Ram I believe. This means you can try the Cortex on your other Chrysler vehicles AND when you sell it, you have a better sellers market. Just a thought.
