gains will be minimal overall. potential savings of a DIY is huge. You may be able to do a DIY, Sonnax, Jetscoop and still come a head than buying that K&N

you can either drill a hole and put the tube in the PVC, put a $7 filter on it or install a catch can...

have you made one for a 4.7 liter? the crank case vent hose is long and on the left of the motor. THe hose goes on back a ways. Kinda hard to get to the other end. I dont see how i could but a filter on the hose and just leave it laying there. i guess my only option would be to drill a hole in the pipe and shove it in there and seal it up ????

I think i am going to make one. i just wanna know what to buy before i head to town...

I think I've done four in 4.7 Rams, plus one in a Dak and one in a Grand Cherokee, so that'd be a half dozen.

The mini filter or catch can are the best options, routing that nasty ventilated crap from the oil into the intake is great for the environment, but lousy for the engine. It along with routing the EGR directly behind the throttle body plate are the reasons why the throttle body gets gummed up so bad and IAT sensors foul so often.

Any auto parts store carries the mini filters for about $7-8...

Just out of curiosity ... what size grommets do you use when installing the sensors.

I just bought an assortment pack when I did mine with like two of each size so I would have a spare just in case. Glad I did because I tore the first one trying to put it in the hole I drilled that was just a little too small. I don't remember the exact size but you could just measure the AIT sensor and that would get ya pretty close.
