Hey guys Ive been doing some searching and cant really seem to find what I am looking for.. So here it goes..

My dad has an 04 Ram 2500 with the 5.7 in it. The motor is in need of some work and I was just tossing around the idea of a swap.. What would it take to swap in a 6.1? Would the motor mounts need changed? What about the transmisson? Also would the computer and harness all need changed or would this be a pretty straight forward swap? Any input is appreciated. Oh and we all like pictures so here is what I am working with..

 

The 6.1 is a whole different beast so I'm sure you would need new harnesses, computers and all that other fancy stuff. Can it be done? Sure. Can it be done easily? I would say no unless you're into that kind of stuff. It would be pretty awesome though
