I've got a 2003, 1500, QC, longbed, 4x4, Hemi. I purchased it used about 2 months ago. It has a K&N intake and obnoxiously loud single exhaust. The exhaust was fun for a while, but my wife and kids are a little tired of it. I'm interested in quieter exhaust that will not rob me of horsepower. Any suggestions? I would like a cat-back direct replacement that I could do myself. I don't need to lose all the rumble, but would like to carry on a conversation while pulling up a hill.

 

I would go to a local shop, tell them what your looking for and then just say your just looking around for bids, most bids include the parts they would use

I agree with the lager magnaflow. Idk how long the muffler you have now is but I'm pretty sure about a 22 inch maggie muffler would quiet you down with out sacrificing the flow
