Default keep stock cat and straight pipe question

Hi i have a dodge 2500 5.7 and am thinking of keeping all exhaust system stock, except for just cutting out the stock muffler and putting a piece of tubing. Will i still have good back pressure because the cats are still there. Just wanting little better flow and a little more mpg. Thanks

You'll get worse milage and power but who cares... I did it durin the summer last year and the shear loudness of catback straights alone was worth it. Make sure you have the shop run true duals.

Yes mpg may actually drop because: 1 - you'll lose a little low end tq and have to run it a bit more, and 2 - you will like the sound and push the pedal down further . You dont have MDS so dont have to worry about the awful sounds associated with that...

Back pressure will still be adequate with the cats, piping and resonators, if equipped.

Check around, there are a few videos on here and youtube of this muffler delete.
