State farm carries my home insurance, they want over 2500 a year on the identical coverage, and I don't live in a rual area, you pay to live in a big city.

I'm with the cheapest insurance company I can find in more ways than one.

Yeah, insurance here in Canada is brutal! And then when you do make a claim, it's a major PITA! Oh well, at least the economy isn't for $hit....

Going to call in a quote on a 06 1500 ram SRT 10 for full coverage on a stock SRT with no modifications, as my current 06 Ram is such a high risk with 2 mufflers and 2 less cylinders.

Doubful they will get my point.

I thought my ins. was high at $1200.00 (full coverage/$500.00 Deductable) on a 2007 Ram 1500 until I saw your post. I've got aftermarket Duals and some other stuff and I just totalled my old 05' last December and had no increase in rate other than going 2 years newer on my truck. Better look for other companys to deal with for insurance.

Thiers plpd on the ram, and full coverage on my 2011 elantra touring sport, plpd with my discount on the ram is only abought 400.00 a year, so 1500.00 for booth, if I were to insure my Ram with full coverage its a 1100.00 a year with no hyundia elantra touring, so ya the up charge 0n a 06 ram 2500 is = to a new 2011 compact wagon.

Problem is they will not put full coverage on my truck due the high performance ex on my ever potent hemi 6speed 2500 ram, othier wise truck is bone stock.

In a twisted way, thier telling me to mod my truck with more performance goodies, as they can't exclude me from basic insurance, PLPD, and than I go out and crash into every car I see with my basic PLPD and pay no deductible !!!

Or I go out and buy a higher performance stock equiped Ram SRT10, Corvette, ect.

AS for lowering my risk facter to a insurance company, if I paid more, I'm less of a risk as I care more abought insuring, protecting my assets.

with just PLPD and a adopted BA, I'm a higher risk in my Ram 2500.

( now my logic seldom makes sense, and no, I'm not going out to damage lesser cars as I do own a wee little sub compact wagon and I need my license!)

My rational for full coverage + fire and theft is my Ram is paid for, and I don't drive my truck much, it just sits until I need a truck.
