285/75r17 vs 315/70r17 Trail Grapplers

I'm looking at getting some new tires soon, I wanna keep my 17 inch stock rims (just can't afford the lift, rims and tires at the moment) and I'm currently running 285/70r17 Nitto Terra Grapplers with a 2.5 inch leveling kit on a 2005 1500 4x2. Mileage and ride are awesome with them...they just suck in the, althought they do ok in sand. I just want some more aggressive tread.
I won't be buying the tires until after I install a 6" suspension kit (more than likely the Rough Country lift since I'll be doing more mudding then dunes) so I don't think rubbing will be a problem with the 285's or even 295's, but what about the 315's, will I need a spacer, and if so, how big? Any rubbing at full lock with the 315's?
I'm currently leaning towards the 285/75r17's, but I'm not 100% sold...just looking for some feedback from anyone who is running these on 17x8 inch rims: how's the ride, what kind of mileage are you getting out of them, how long did they last you before you had to replace them....pictures would be awesome as well! Many thanks!

Most of it will be going back and forth on clay roads and cattle trails driving back and forth to my deer stand during the fall and during the summer for hogs...the rest of the time will just be in little puddles near my house for fun. I've been running around in Nitto Terra Grapplers and what little mudding I've done has turned them into slicks. I didn't lower my tire pressure with the terra grapplers, so I have no idea if that'd help.
