Default shocks and level opinions?!?

I am in the market for new shocks and a level. I am thinking Bilstein 5100's (if I understand correctly they would be all I need to level) but would like opinions. I don't think I want to go the spacer route but it isn't completely ruled out if I need a bunch of extra parts to level with the 5100's. would spindles be better than 5100's? I don't do a bunch of off-road but when I do I don't want to have to worry about anything breaking. So lets have some opinions!

Is your truck a 4x4? If so you should put in in your sig which will help everyone help you better. If it is then the 5100s are the cheapest way of doing it next to the spindles. You get a level and new shocks for one price

Let's beat this dead horse a little more shall we...

Adjustable struts: '06-08 4x4 only.
Lift spindles: '02-'08 4x2 only.

You can't put struts on a 4x2 and you can't use spindles on a 4x4. Period.
Your other options are coil spacers for a 4x2 (max 2" in your case), or strut spacers for a 4x4 (I think the max is 2.5" for your year, but nobody recommends over 2" because of the angles it would put the CV joints at).

To directly answer the OP query: if you have a 4x4, the Bilstein leveling struts are your best bet, by far. If you have a 4x2, the 3" lift spindle is the best option (no chance of UCA contacting the coil bucket, like with a 2" coil spacer).

Ok thanks guys...I do have 4x4 and I guess I got myself confused with spindles and spacers! I am going to order the 5100's and have a local shop put them on. And for the sig ill' fix it as soon as I get to my pc!

Can you send me a link for this 3" lift spindles? I've been trying to find them but I'm unsure of what is what with all the options they have.

I pretty much figured out that you had a 4x4 judging by your pic. You either stopped to take a pic in the snow, or took a pic while waiting for a buddy to come pull you out.

They used to be on ebay for $269, but looks like they are not currently there. You can purchase them for $300 here.
