Default No more chrome!

I have a black 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi Quad Cab. I just ordered my new rims, Fuel Hostage 20x9 -12mm offset, and I just got a new black grille. I am attempting to remove all of the chrome on my truck... Front and back bumpers, emblems, and bolts on the Fuel Hostage. I have heard that I should get it all sandblasted, and powdercoated. I have a few questions about all of this.

1. Can I remove the emblems, get them all sandblasted and powdercoated, then reapply them to my truck?

2. Does sandblast and powdercoating look good, like would it match my truck? (Any pictures of your application will help)

Thanks.

are the emblems and grille shell/insert plastic? If so then i dont think powder coating will work.

Powdercoating only works on metal. You use electricty to allow powdered paint to adhere to the surface. You can get your bumpers sandblasted and powdercoated, but my personal opinion would be to Line-x them. They hold up better IMO.

I plasti dipped over my chrome emblems but I am starting to see the edges wear off after about 6 months. Not really sure how to go about touching them up or if I have to remove the badges completely to repaint. Also another option is Line-X. I line-xed my running boards and love it.

Emblems are plastic with chrome coating.

Ok sweet, well what is the best way to remove the emblems, prep/paint them red, then reapply them?

To pull the emblems off get a hair dryer and get the emblems real warm so the double stick foam behind them gets soft. Then use a credit card to slide behind them to break the foam loose and the emblems will just pull off. Then just pick off the remaining foam from the truck and emblem and use something like Goof-Off to get the residue off and give it a quick wax after cause the Goof-Off leaves a hazy smear. Then just use some 3M automotive double stick foam to get them back on.

Easier and quicker to use fishing line to get them off. A simple pencil eraser will get the black adhesive off and then the 3M tape to put them back on but you'll probably like it better without emblems
