What are the Cons of Lifting your truck? Wear,MPG, Etc.
I have the 3.92 with a Corporate 9 rear? and LSD.
Do you think this would be alright with like a 305-55-20?
So If I went with the 4'' Spindle with 2.5" Blocks in the rear I'd be fine
with 33"s or even 35"s?
Im guessing with this setup and 33"s Id be closest to stock power, mpg, and ride correct?
Just looking to get more clearance, be able to put a little bigger off road tires. I dont do any crazy off road, but want to be able to get through some trails if I have to, if that makes sense.
But for the price of the spindles, I could go for the Rough Country 6" Lift for a little more. But is the RC lift a true 6inch suspension lift? Like Coils with 6" more travel than stock?
Thanks for the replies once again.

What would be better? 4" Spindles with a 3"RC suspension lift, or a the RC 6" Lift? They'd cost about the same so I am trying to decide on which one?

Bump?
the more you lift the harsher it is on vehicle due to the angles of you drive shaft and so on and other parts. unless you want to run 37" tires stick with a 3-4 inch lift. truck will drive better and be more stable
If all you wanna do is fit 35s, all you need is the spindles OR the coils/spacers. You'll level the front to the rear and have enough room for your bigger tires. The difference between the spindle and coils/spacers versus the 6" kit is really all just semantics. They lift the truck in a slightly different manner, but since you're a 4x2 it really makes no difference. If you wanna save some money, get the 3“ spindle instead of the 4" and then get 2 or 3" coil spacers followed by a 2 or 3" block for your rear. More than enough room for your 35s and cheaper than the RC kit.
As for MPG, if you just level with 33s and go no higher, you may not lose more than .5mpg or so. My loss has been negligable. If you go with bigger tires and/or go higher than just level, you're going to see some pretty big drops in mpg. Adding 4.56 gears will help a bit, but can't make up for your decreased aerodynamics.

I want to put a 2"-3" body lift on my dakota and put 33 inch tires on it. Is this possible without harming my truck. I don't want to do it if it's going to mess up my alignment or suspension or ball joints. I also don't want to crank the torsion bars, but i will if i need to. Any suggestions?
I usually make fun of the guys who lift their trucks. Bunch of posers. My only respect goes to those who not only drop $40k on a new pickup, but another $20k in upgrades and don't cry or too scared to get a little mud on the tire or some trail rash.
Honestly, I've been in some pretty awesome spots and never lifted a vehicle. I've been in spots in my stock 4x4 Bronco that my buddies lift 07 Ram Hemi couldn't go because his wheels were just too wide or his wheel base was too long to be practical with its height.

I bought mine for 17k and most certainly didn't put another "20k" into it. You post batters me with ignorance
Maybe you should re-read my post
It's along the same lines of those guys who buy pickup trucks for.... I have a few friends who don't have a single scratch in the bed of their truck. And yet they bitch and complain about gas/MPG. Maybe they'd be better off buying something they will actually use as intended vs the image to impress others. Because why buy a nice watch if you're never going to wear it....
