Yep, quick run of the cable down and plug it in. I love mine.

If you pick up any additional sensors they need a power source but other than that they are all ran through the obdii port

does this work for the 2003 4.7 as well? Is it just a software issue with the other readers like scangauge II?

Sounds great. Seems as though it's a much cheaper and MUCH easier option then adding a trans temp gauge and the associated wiring.

Its not cheap. Just convenient. You can buy 3 trans temp gauges for the cost of an AI gauge.

Having installed my past Trans temp gauges in an inline thermowell to get the most accurate readings and the assoiciated wiring, ill take a plug in model any day!

Not saying its a bad thing by anymeans, just a little pricey. I use mine for quite a few things and didnt want to spend the money or room for the gauges I wanted.

Bully Dog cannot confirm whether their unit will read Tranny temps. So as long as you are certain you can read them on this one, i think this may be the way i go. The only thing i don't like is the tiny screen. Have you tried pulling up trouble codes? is that easy to read and is the actual code spelled out? or is it just numbers?

I am 100% positives it will read the trans temp. With your 06' you'll be able to read about 50 additional items that mine won't read as well since they switched the programming for the 06' on up to a canbus Sergio instead. On my 05' it'll read about 50-60 parameters.
