Default Do I need to do the plenum fix before SuperChip?

Ok so I am looing into the SC tuner and it seems to have a pretty good increase in HP and TQ on my 5.9
Question is....do I need to do the plenum fix before I install the SC tuner?

Is your plenum gasket blown now?

Good question. I am not sure really? I have searched around the forum and it seems that if it were blown then I would have power loss and burn oil. It does not burn oil and Im not sure if it has power loss or not? I bought this truck about 6 months ago and it seems to have plenty of power but I dont have anything to compare it to.
Also in my search (correct me if Im wrong) I believe Dodge "corrected" the plenum blowout issue with the "death flash" so my thought is if I chip it then my plenum might blow if it's not already?

I agree with you that the probability of blowing the plenum increases with HP & Torque output. But I've seen A LOT of "Death Flashed" trucks blow the plenum gasket. You can tell by shining a flashlight down the throttle body and looking for the tell-tale puddle of oil at the bottom of it.

My philosophy: Get the tuner, if you blow the plenum gasket then don't just put a Mopar one back in - fix it for good with a Hughes Plenum kit. If it ain't broke, don't fix it - if it breaks, then make the repair a mod and never have to worry about it again...

I think I like your philosophy

Now..... do I have to run 93 octane if I do the SC or is it selectable?
