Default 1500 Rear Springs

Can anybody tell me if the rear springs on my truck are normal? I have never seen leaf springs look like this. Also, what about the helper spring... is it normal to have it installed like this? Both sides of the truck look alike, so it seems that these springs may actually be made this way, but I've never seen any others look like these do.

I'm not familiar with how to post a picture in a thread, so I have uploaded it to my forum album entitled "Springs"... The picture is without any weight in the bed. This is as it normally sits.

I just looked at your pic and they look like my 10 year old ones, kind of sagged and in a semi "W" shape. My helper springs sit a the same angle as yours. I wish I took a better look under mine yesterday when I had the bed fully loaded with lumber and sacks of quick-crete to replace a 45 foot section of fence to see how it sat then. I got in the drivers seat and I couldn't see over my hood LOL, had to adjust the seat and mirrors.

Mine look exactly the same. I never posted on here, but I just bought the 2" rear blocks to compensate for any lost height.

Thanks guys. I was just concerned about them looking like they do. It almost looks as if they had been really overloaded and bent to their current shape, the "semi-W" shape as Caseys-dodge put it. The helper springs look to me like they should be flipped over, but if they were, the leaf springs would be in the way now. I'll leave them alone, for now. The truck sits level from front to back, so it looks good until I put a little weight in the back.

The fact that you, KaspeR34, have basically the same truck (2005 QC 4x4 1500) as I do and your springs look just like mine makes me feel a lot better about it too.

Yeah It worried me too, I hated the shape. Plus I missed the raked look she had before the level. Blocks can't hurt, and it takes like an hour too install.

mine were the same.. but worse.. the drivers side sagged more than the passenger.. I finally bucked up and got the skyjacker ez-ride 3"+ springs.. which means I don't have to block them to have a level ride w/ the 4" lift up front.. rides better too..

That's my next route after the 3 inch body and 6 inch suspension on my truck.
