Toyo M/T, SS m16's, or FC-II's???
I've been thinking about what tires to get for quite a while now (I already decided on 18" dick cepek dc-II rims). I'm going to get 35x12.5x18 for the tires. I know all of the above tires do good on the street, but which does best in mud? I was stuck extremely bad the other day (bad enough for engine and transmission to be in danger) and decided I need better tires to help get me through slop because I'm a country boy that loves to go muddin. PLEASE post pics of your tires and let me know how they do in the mud. Dang I post a lot of threads don't I?
Forget the M16s in mud, I know they are advertised as a hybrid but they off-road more like an average A/T.
Either of the other two are good choices, the Toyo M/T to me is more like a hybrid than a true mud tire anyway. Their sister tire, the Nitto Trail Grappler is marketed as a hybrid between the Mud Grappler and Terra Grappler and has almost the same tread pattern.
Both the Toyo or the FCII will perform very well in mud without giving up a lot of highway performance...

as someone who lives in the alabama backwoods and sees a lot of offroad trucks i would agree that the fcii and the toyo mt are pretty close as far as mud. having seen both tires a good bit i notice the toyo is a good bit quieter on road than the fcii. those big side blocks on the fcii slap the road pretty good if road noise is a big deal to you.
one other thing i have noticed is the fcii tends to last a good 20,000 miles or more longer than the toyo if that is important to you.

I don't really want tires that last forever so that doesn't matter and I don't mind road noise cuz I'd never know it's there, I have a cherry bomb extreme with turndowns and a cai. Is there any other tires I should consider as well?
With a good bit of road use (daily driver) but you still want to be a weekend warrior then the FCIIs and the Toyo MTs are strong contenders. Of course there are many tires out there that are marketed for such use but my short list would consist of those two, Mickey Thompson MTZs, Nitto Trail Grapplers and the Cooper ST/MAXX which functions a lot like the FCIIs (and Cooper now owns Mickey Thompson/Dick Cepek, so that's not too surprising).
Another "MUD TIRE" that you don't hear a lot about but those who have tend to really rave about is the Cepek Mud Country, it's more aggressive than the FCII but doesn't give up much on pavement.
If you don't care about on-road handling, noise or fast wear then you can always go more aggressive and look at Interco TRXUS, Mickey Claw TTC, Nitto Mud Grappler or Cooper STT.
When I bought my tires ('05), my truck was my daily driver, but I also needed something to get me around hunting/fishing and general work around my piece of farm property. I'm not disappointed in my FCIIs at all and with about 35k on them they show barely any wear. But since fall of '06 I've had my Grand Cherokee as my daily driver and aside from the 360 mile trip from Florida up to the Georgia farm my truck doesn't see a lot of road use anymore. I think my next tire is going to be the Mickey Thompson Baja Claw TTC. I had "Claws" on a Wrangler I used to have and they got through EVERYTHING off-road but were really bad on pavement to downright squirrely in the rain on the road. The TTC is a more road-friendly version of it that's still ultra-aggressive off-road...
