Default need help/ ideas on my new truck

Hi guys my name is billy n this is my first post! I just bought my first dodge truck ever, its a 02 1500 QC 4.7L with 212000 miles on it. The previous owner was a sales rep from the dodge dealer in town n this truck was very well takin care of, its super clean. The previous owner told me most of them miles were highway miles. My question is with the truck having so many miles would it even be worth trying to put upgrades on it ( intake, exhaust, a tuner, n so on). I already have plans this weekend to run dual straight pipes form the cat back to in front of the pass rear tire. Should I go ahead n do this or will it hurt the truck mpg, an y n all help n ideas would b nice thanks,

Congrats and Welcome to DF.

I moved your thread to general discussion so you can openly talk about modifcations and generalized stuff. If you need technical assistance on what is wrong or how to repaior something feel free to post up in Technical where you had created this thread.
Be sure to check out the stickies for common ram problems posted in 3rd gen tech as well!

back to your truck.
if it was well maintained, then there is no reason you can't do mods at your dicretion. Certainly a catback or muffler swap out would be first thing that comes to mind. In the FAQ section, there's lots of Polls that will allow you to see what everyone else is running.
As for the intake, i would spend $350 on a CAI, but instead make your own out of PVC. or contact Weedahoe as he plastic welds up intake tubing for guys, you just supply the couplers and filter.
Tuner, I'm not sure about that for your 2002?
i do know the 4.7L's are known for overheating due to clogged radiators, so i would reccomend acoolant flush if it's in so-so looking shape.
