Default Need Help With Performance Parts!!! 2006 dodge ram 1500 4.7L RWD.

HI Guys,
I need some help about what performance parts i should put in my new truck. I was thinks about a new exhaust maybe flowmaster ( but i dont know which one i should use). I also want to put in a new cold air intake ( need help with which one is the best one to use). And i was thinking about putting a performance chip in.I really dont know which one to use because there are so many chips that dont work and there some that do. Also one more thing should i put in a suspension lift or body lift or nothing bc its RWD. So please let me know. Thank you guys so much.

I have the flowmaster super 40 and love the sound but it is a chambered muffler so it restricts flow. Magnaflow and cherrybomb have better flow so for performance they would be a better pick although I don't believe they would make a very much difference over the flowmaster as for a cold air intake make your own we have a DIY thread on here they explains how to do it and it's much cheaper then buying one and works just as good as probly any you buy. As for the tuner if you don't plan on going over the top with mods on the motor then get a Superchip it's really popular among us Ram boys but if you plan on dumping a lot of money in truck and need a custom tune go with the Diablo tuner.

Any other questions just ask

Almost forgot I believe the 4.7 motors has a bad reputation for over heating from plugged up cooling system so I wOuld also take a look at that, we have a sticky thread here talking about common problems with the 3rd Gen Rams

There are many places to buy the Superchip online just google it. I know amazon sells then and a lot of other part supply stores

DIY-Do It Yourself
So you just look in our area for DIY threads an there is a thread called DIY CAI and it will tell you everything you need to make your own, it's really easy an probly an hour of work and cost 1/3 of name brand CAI

And as for the overheating thing I'm not sure when it starts but maybe you fixed the problem already with the remanufactured motor but maybe someone with a 4.7 will chime in I have a 5.9

Mine is a 4.7 and never had a problem with the radiator clogging up. Right around 200k the plastic did crack and had to replace it. The best way to prevent a clogged radiator is to flush it once a year or at least every 2 years.
