I don't know...this was sitting in the lot at Enterprise rental when we pulled up. I told the guy they should rent those and pointed at it. He said we do, that's ours. I pointed and said I'll take that one.

 

Haha, good deal. Is it a 6 speed? My dad traded his 06 charger for a 2011 Jeep Wrangler, turned around and traded that for an '09 Challenger R/T 6 spd. If you got a 6 speed you know about the skip shift from 1st to 4th, 'cause they used a viper tranny in the challengers.

 

No, automatic. I've rented Chargers before also, no one ever rents a V8 (unless its the only engine available), much less a stick shift.

 

I'd almost be willing to take the new Challenger v6. It's 305 horsepower does 0-60 in 6.4 and gets 27 mpg highway, all with the "old" 5spd auto. If they ever put in the 8 spd it will get interesting. That's not a bad compromise, and it's more horsepower than many v8's from the recent past.

They do say the Hemi doesn't cause much of a mpg hit, and we all know the SRT8 is what we'd really want
