Has anyone ever removed the plastic outer portion of the Chrome Clad original rims?
I have seen these rims Plasti Dipped and Powder Coated, but I was wondering if you could remove the plastic portion, and if so could they still be balanced and what would they look like?
May be able to polish the aluminum?
Anyway just wondering, if I could a cheap one I may have to try this.

 

Well i do believe they are steel so i dont know how well that would polish up..however i have heard and read that they are a B**CH to get off...and then the gunk underneath is a PIA as well.

 

There are some old pics floating around where someone removed them and they were really glued on really good. Good luck getting them peeled off.
