Default which tires?

so, I've been looking at getting the nitto trail grapplers and I still am.... the only thing i can't decide on is the size. what got me thinking about it was looking at the load ranges on the nitto website. I originally was going to get a 35x12.50x18, but the 295x70x18 has a 600 lb higher load capacity and it also holds 80 psi as opposed to 65 psi of the 35". I haven't researched it yet, but i would imagine that would also equate to less rolling restistance as well. the 295 tire claims a height of 34.57.... i guess my question is, is am i going to really notice this? also, how much skinnier is this tire going to look. is a 12.50 wide tire really 375mm wide?

Mustang, by my calculations a 12.50 should be 312.5 mms wide, that is if the 12.50 is actually 12.50 inches wide, so the 295's would be almost as wide as the 12.50's, maybe 3/4 inch less

Do you necessarily need the extra load capacity? Have you checked the load capacity of your rims? If the rims aren't compatible with the tires, then getting higher load tires doesn't buy a lot. I'm looking at the Terra Grapplers and the 305/70's I want have a load rating at almost 3200 lbs and that's right at the same as the rims I want. Interestingly, in the Terra Grappler, the 12.50 size max's at 50 psi, vs. 65 for the 305, but it has a higher load rating than the 305 at 3525.

Nitto's website gives exact specs on all the sizes of all the models.

thanks, my math was a little off... was late at night and i had a brain fart lol. i think in the long run i'd be better off going with the 295's. seems to be more of an on road tire which is where the truck spends all of it's time. i have a trail rig for my offroading. i do haul boats, quads, and my rig pretty often so i think i'm pretty set on them. thanks for your help guys
