Default Fitting 35's on an 07 1500?

I've looked through the FAQ section and the tire fitment thread but didn't see the combo I'm running. I've got an 07 1500 reg cab long bed 4x4, I installed a leveling kit up front (strut spacers...blah...struts on a truck...puke), I am waiting on my add a leaf to show up and I'll install it. The rear suspension is by far the weakest I've encountered on a half ton truck..so I'm hoping adding a long leaf will help out a bit. I'm running stock steel wheels and have no intention of changing to anything else as its a work/farm truck and shiny wheels won't help me none. Right now I'm running 265/70/17 tires and they look tiny on it. They're wore out and I've been looking at 35x12.50/17's
Anyone running a similar set up? Will they fit without hitting the upper a arm or will I have to get spacers? If I have to get spacers, will 1/2" spacers work with the factory studs? Any other info I may be overlooking?

Gotta get spacers if you have stock wheels. You're going to **** off a ton of people here for this thread. There's a sticky about fitment in the 3rd gen tech section.

Yep, and I looked through it and there is no mention of stock 17" steel wheels. Tons of stuff about 20's, which is awesome....if I had 20's. There's also zero mention of if 1/2" spacers will work with stock studs.

Went and checked that thread again. There is no mention of what size spacer to use to fit the 12.5 tire. The only mention of spacers is what size you'll need to keep your studs or cut them flush. The spacers I have are 1/2" thick and just fit between the rim and the rotor face. They don't have seperate studs to bolt the spacer on, then the wheel to the spacer. You just use the stock studs. I was curious if they are long enough to put a 1/2" spacer in there.

I know that the 20's have to have the spacer, I don't know much about the 17's but I believe they would too

That's really all the info I'm lookin for. I don't want huge spacer simply because I have no inclination to change ball joints and hub bearings non stop due to unneeded extra stress by spacing too far. I mean, I'm sure with a 1.5" or more spacer it won't be an issue at all. But If I can get away with only going 1/2", that's all the better. I don't drive the truck all that much, I only put 2500 miles on it in the past year. But when I do drive it, it either has a trailer behind it or a bed full of split oak.

Youll probably need spacers and have to shave your inner fender as well. Thats what I had to do with a -12 offset 20 inch cause I refuse to use spacers

Are you stuck on 12.5" wide? As far as I know you can go to 285mm wide and not have any issues. Granted, that's from my research about 20"s, but I assume the 17"s and the 20"s have the same backspacing?
