Default AWD transfer case swap

Hi, im new here and ive been looking around the internet and calling people for days trying to figure out how difficult its going to be to swap out an AWD transfer case for a 2WD transfer case. I have 2, 2004 Dodge Rams, both with hemis, but one truck has AWD, 4HI, and 4LOW, other truck has 2HI, 4HI, and 4LOW. The AWD truck is my daily driver, i love it, but i want to lift the truck and put money into it. The other truck i have has 37" tires, 6" RCX lift, and is beat pretty bad i got a good deal on it, i wanna swap out transfer cases so i can move all the lift and tires to my AWD truck, so is this possible to do? is it a big pain or is it easy, im a mechanic and my boss has never done this so im just figuring this out as i go. A good respone would be awesome, thanks you for your time.

Yep, the AWD was pretty short lived. '04 & '05 I believe and the AWD model is very limited as far as lifting goes. I know when I bought my '04 new, most of the Laramies were AWD and I didn't even want the electronic true 4WD. It was a royal PIA finding my Laramie with the good, old fashion mechanical shift lever/transfer case. I really don't know all that would be involved in a swap of the transfer cases, maybe someone will chime in...
