Summit makes a intake kit for the 5.9 thats really basic but it won't break the bank. Says its made for 2nd gen trucks but it works on the 3rd gen 5.9 by taking the top hat off of the throttle body. Basically makes a gen 2 throttle body. Anyway not sure on how well it will work and if it will be ok to take offroad since its a exposed filter in the engine bay but we will see. Ill post up pics tomorrow when it stops raining.

Most just get a heat shield to help protect the filter when off road. An aftermarket intke is just as good offroad as the stock one

 

Yeah mines 4x4 and seen many of holes and hunting spots and never had a dirty filter and its open.
