Default Spectre CAI??

http://www.autoanything.com/air-inta...0A2512568.aspx

Found a cheap CAI on Autoanything for 149.99. It seems pretty inexpensive so I was wondering, has anybody had any experience with Spectre and if so, should I pony up the extra dough for K&N? This will be my first engine mod on my truck so I'm not too terribly familiar with the Hemi layout.

Thanks!

This is THE kit I've repaired for probably half a dozen guys in my driveway - a few of which are/were members here.

That "L" bracket coming off the intake wants to break from road vibrations on this kit for some reason - and it's cheap pot metal so it can't be welded. 1st one I brazed and it just broke in another spot like 300 miles later. I'm also not a real big fan of the Spectre filters personally.

I end up replacing the whole tube with PVC and using a pipe clamp to brace it when I repair 'em, utilize the boot that came with it and the shielding, some have also gone and bought a $35 K&N cone while I was at it, some kept the Spectre filter...

Make your own for much cheaper and use either K&N filter or Spectre filter you will see same gains

Alright thanks. I don't mind spending extra for quality. Good to know that the specters might not be what I am after. But the 149.99 price was almost too cheap to not ask questions. Thanks.

I have had it on my truck for about 6,000 miles no problems. Buddy also had one for a few years until his fan flew off going down the road and destroyed his radiator and the CAI. He got a K&N for free.
